Weekend Wander: Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar

Throwback Philippines

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, which literally means The Philippine Houses of Sugar, is an open-air museum and herittage park located in Bagac, Bataan.

Owned by José “Gerry” Acuzar, who is also the owner of New San Jose Builders Inc, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar showcases the Filipino’s History and Craftmanship by taking you back to the 18th Century Philippines.

Each house that you’ll see in Las Casas are dismantled brick by brick, plank by plank, from its original location and transferred then assembled at Bagac Bataan. The houses are assembled like puzzle and restored to its original look.

Not all houses are transferred in Las Casas. Each house that you’ll see there has historical, cultural, or architectural value. Moreover, some houses are just replicas like the house where General Antonio Luna murdered.

If you want to travel back in time, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is a good place to visit. They offer different Day tour rates that will suit your budget.
